    Fuel Injector Testing in Portland?

I want to get one of my injectors tested to make sure that it's not stuck open, is there a place in Portland that does bench testing? Or is it possible to test myself? Engine is out of the car.

    ken,
I dont know how much time you have,
I cant remeber if it was on this forum, m42 or bimmerforum
but on one of them, months back, I remeber reading a thread on rebuilding and testing your self

or maybe it was on one of my motorcyle froums

if you have not upgraded injectors yet, this may be a good time, you can get "rebuilt" ones farily reasonable. I paid 80 for 4 bosh 19lb 4 pintle "rebuilt" injectors

Id look for the info but off to work

good luck with the injector and your engine

Mine are all newly rebuilt 4-pintle ones. I had a wash down issue in my #4 cylinder, and all signs point to a fouled plug. However, we never tested for a stuck-open injector before yanking the engine.

The piston rings on #4 didn't pass the >50psi test ;).

yah that sucks that the engine came out and you might have bought more time with just injector service
so what were you getting 3-4 tbls spoons of fuel in the cylinder ???
sounds familiar to what I read other day

The injectors only have like 1,000 miles on them since being rebuilt. I'm HIGHLY skeptical that one of the injectors was stuck open, but I just want to rule it out 100%. The small pool of fuel in the cylinder came from driving ~2 miles at high rpms (to keep it running enough to get it back home).
One of the lead techs at Rasmussen recommended dipping the tips of the injectors in water, and blowing compressed air into the rail... and bubbles from the tips would indicate that they're stuck open.

that sounds like a easy enough test, for stuck open
                good luck
