So what's up with the job market up here?

My parents might be making a move up there and I wouldn't mind going with them, I just need a job once I get up there as well. Are there any military bases nearby? The places they're looking at include, but aren't limited to: Salem, Eugene, Bend, Portland, Tacoma, Vancouver, or Spokane, maybe even Seattle.

Also if anyone wants to hook it up at a shop with some sort of mechanical/car related job, I might be down for it.

McChord AF base and Fort Lewis Army base are located just south of Tacoma (north of Olympia) right on I-5.

There's always room for a lithe, supple boy in the PNW.

Around Salem there are jobs to be had if you happen to hit them at the right time. I guess it really depends on the skills you have. If anything, at least you'll be closer to the glorious E30 Picnic! Good luck, either way.

2nded. Not welcome. Come visit anytime. Don't move here. It rains all the time anyways, you wouldn't like it.

I've been on unemployment for nearly a year straight, and have been busting my ass looking for a job. Good luck if you do move to the Great Pacific Northwest...
