Good paint job around 1k to 1500?

Anyone know of a shop around Portland or Bend that would do a good job respraying an e30 around 1,000-1,500 bones? No color change, maybe some minor ding removal? Thanks.
Looking for a late model e30 in PNW.

You're only chance of getting a "good" respray would be a place that will let you roll in a stripped car.
The more work you do (removing trim pieces, taping off shit, etc) the cheaper it is for you.

most "Good" paint, cost more than a grand.

The cheapest way to go is that (above), and for you to buff it out.

If you do the prep work, even a maaco job is good. They even put a bass boat metallic flake in when they resprayed my integra.

        Maaco.

As it's been discussed, who else spends a majority of their time spraying and refining their skills? Not many. Do your own body work, remove your own trim and glass. Then get it over to Maaco and drop $500-$750 on it and they'll do a very, very good job.

There's a guy with a gorgeous e30 M3 on these forums that did his own prep/trim removal and had Maaco spray it for like $375. It came out beautiful. I always looked at his sig and figured he had a good $4,000 into his paint alone it was so nice.

I believe they will. The E30 M3 I was referencing had his painted in what appears (and if not, it's VERY close) Diamond-Schwarz.

I would assume that Maaco would do factory paint colors since they do collision, problem is though I have absolutely no place to strip a car, unless I took it to my parents place in Bend then trailered it up here. It is looking like that is what I might have to do. I guess it would be a good spring break project if I can find a car before then.

LOL. I actually saw the paint monkey paint an entire side of a Santa Fe one time, and it turned out really good. It was that Aaron guy, he knew his shizz.

Go to the auto body supply store in Vancouver, IIRC on Andreson, up near like 78th street.

There is a paint booth for rent right next door. they will know someone to refer you to to get your car done right.

Hell, for that matter, see if Matt B is willing to strip and reassemble. You might get it done cheap enough you can rent a wreck for a week or three to drive while doing it.

Yes, I paint factory colors. OEM paint services as well. I have all the color chips and alternates for every make and model car dating back to 1985. Single stage on through factory restoration. We're doing the Horsepower Freaks M3 for SEMA pretty soon actually.

                      I've done several e30's...a few pro3 cars, a few non-enthusiast cars.

You're more than welcome to do your own body work, prime it, block it, whatever you want...but, I cannot warranty "YOUR" work. I can do all that work, and warranty it...its up to you. It comes down to what you want done.

It's hard to defend a maaco, being an owner, I face it daily. But a good body shop is like a good stew...its all about the ingredients...and my shop is real tasty :)

I can base-coat/clear-coat your e30 for that ballpark you're looking at. Come by for an estimate, ask for me.

No, over on Andreson, south of 78th. Industrial Finishes, I think. Big banner facing the street says "HEATED PAINT BOOTH FOR RENT" or some shit like that.
