while on the topic of m5's, there is a stunning example of an e39 m5 at freeman motor co on macadam. it is the darkest blue you'll ever see and has a caramel interior. they're asking 16k and it has 98k miles (kinda high, i know). i was tempted to see what strings i could pull to sell the e39 i just bought to get into this car, but then i remembered that if ANYTHING went wrong with the m5, i'd be effed financially, and i'm sure there is some critical 100k mile maintenance thing that costs a ton of money to do.
new family/commuter car. E39 content. (excuse for a new project)

an e39 m5 is a lot of car but still costs quite a bit. I daily drive a 540i/6 and it has gobs of power and a heated steering wheel.... an M5 would be awesome but the purchase price/insurance just makes the 540i a no brainer.

Daniel. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy from Freeman motors. They might look nice (M5s, M3s, M6s, 335s, ect) but have a whooole lot of cars that come in from there and they all have a TON of issues. A majority of us can tell when a Freeman car comes in, because it's smoking like crazy, sounds and runs like ass, ect even if we don't see the licenses plate.
Sure they might run "okay" when you test drive it. Give it a month or less and they'll be in the dealers or another repair shop getting everything repaired. I've seen them Freeman Motor cars first hand, and it's not pretty. A friend of mine made up a little quote for them, "Freeman Motor cars keep Rasmussen BMW in business." And a majority of the cars that come in are in fact Freeman cars.
On a side note, a late model alpine white e30 vert came in from there. We'll see how this one goes.
Well, off to school!M CoupeComment

he speaks the truth... i bought a 2003 C-class 4-matic AWD wagon from them, and within one month, the front differential had gone bad... so i call and speak to freeman himself, referencing the warranty that i'd purchased along with the car.. "oh, that doesnt take effect for 90 days"
FUCK FREEMAN MOTORS. in the ass.Originally posted by HollandThere should be a restraining order to keep kids 100 feet from that car at all times. Plus execution on the sight to anyone who places a shopping cart within 200 feet of the thing.Comment
