    the Drop

PNW: The time has come and the cash has been scrounged and it's time to get lower. I'm looking hard at the TMS Billy/H&R packages and having a rough time deciding between the Sport/Race springs. I've read the threads and looked at the pics, looking for some local input.

I'm 32 now, guys. I don't get carded anymore. I get funny looks when I ride my skateboard. I can't be driving around town with my rocker panels dragging on the fuckin' ground.

I have the hr sports 1.5"front 1.25" rear from TMS with bilstein sports. I'm not totally happy with the way it sits. The rear tires are tucked and there is still a approx. 1"-1 1/2" gap in the front. Maybe race springs front and sports rear?

        Pictures of car?

I'm running H&R Race F-R with 15MM drop hats F on basketweaves currently, and get a bunch of thumbs up and minimal attention from the Police or "haters". When my wife drives it, she gets guys' numbers written down on pieces of paper and plastered to their window while mouthing "call me". All on the freeway...

Anyways, H&R Race F-R with the 15MM drop hats in front make it sit fairly even. Billy sports are a good stiff shock without being stupid. Honestly, for daily driving I wouldn't go any lower or stiffer.

HR Sports. you'll get sick of the Races eventually, in my opinion, unless you are really trying to be hardcore.

I do like the way Matt's car sits. I'd like to see ck_taft325is's setup. But when I'm inside I can't SEE the car. I only FEEL the potholes.

They are a progressive spring. I don't consider it "hardcore" at all. A lot of it is tires, too. But still, that's not THAT stiff...

I have 650r/450f ground control (linear spring) and with 205/55/50s it wasn't stiff at all in my opinion. My mom's rav4 hit pot holes just as hard, difference being it is more composed.

H&R Race plus Billie Sports. You won't scrape at all if you keep your head up.

standing by lurking, i mean reading, this is good interesting info i feel im in the exact same boat
as Ryann, I do however feel a bit out of the loop as to how wheel/tire interacts to this,
i mean i know it plays its role, but im not clicking with how say a larger wheel would affect the
ride as compared to a smaller wheel.

btw Matt-B, love your new sig.

Lower profile / stiffer sidewall tires are obviously going to give a rougher ride.

Bushings also play a role, as do the shocks.

dropped mine 1.5 and it is almost too much , unfortunately, cause where I live they must have made oversize speed bumps, and even crawling over some I scrape, it sucks
and where my mother in law lives, in depoe bay, I can no longer get my car into her "neihborhood" because of the speed bumps

maybe thats not so bad :)

H&R Race are not "too" stiff, just right for daily driving. Your fillings should be fine ;) I had plans to go GC Coilovers with all Poly bushings for MY (no wife, pops or Ma' driving it) daily driver, but after spending some seat time in one, I personally wouldn't go any stiffer than H&R Race/Billy Sports.

                              Here's my car:

No more Borbets but no recent photo's. Keep in mind the tires on the staggered Borbet A's setup were slightly undersized for my taste.
