Baja SAE Washington

SAE is coming to Bellingham in the coming weeks for a Baja race at the local motocross track.

What is there to do around there, My team is flying in on the 18th and leaving the 24th competition is the 19th through the 22nd so we are gonna have at least one day (and likely a couple nights) to go out and have some fun. What should we do while we're there, i think we're plannin to jump across into canada since one of us is under 21, any recommendations?

As far as I know the only things in bellingham are biking, hiking, western, and close to canada.

You must bring a passport to go to Canada if you end up going up there. It's a looooooooong trip just for one person to drink legally, I'd stay in Bellingham if I were you.

As far as Bellingham goes, it's a pretty sleepy hippy-ish town with lots of outdoor activities and a solid college town nightlife (bars/taverns...yes...clubs...not so much).

Nope, this is my only competition and I hadn't heard that yet.

I was on Formula '08. Helped lay the groundwork for their success, haha (That's what I get to claim). We had a sensor failure while I was driving along with a bunch of random problems at competition. We also only had one chance to get it right, unlike the 6 competitions they are going to this year :roll:

Yeah if they do things right this year they could get a lot of wins under their belt. The 2010 formula car's first drive was last Friday night and so far they have had an oil related failure, a chassis failure that set them back a couple of days and a failed sprocket. They just now got running again and they only have about a week of testing before their first competition and wont be using several new features due to lack of testing.

thats BS why no drinking til comp is over thats a bit gay.

as far as FSAE goes from what our advisor tells us all they do is talk about their car all competition, whereas when we arent at the site competing we are drinking and checking out girls.

anyhow, congrats on your forth coming victory. As long as french canadians dont win im cool with it.

in south carolina laval won the competition, and they won the raffle for the generator. it was rigged (but their car hauls major ass)

you can go to canada without a passport. to get back you need one. or find a road with no border crossing.
