I need a driveshaft for a 1986 325e. If anyone in the Portland area has one, I'd like to pick it up tomorrow morning. Its a long shot, but I hope someone can help!
Don't bother with a used one. Almost all will have a bad ujoint to one degree or another. Driveline services of Portland makes really nice rebuilt ones. A used one may be tempting but inspect the ujoints VERY carefully for any sign of stiffness or rough spots otherwise you'll be pulling it again in a few months

True... I think I have almost killed my used driveline, and it has only been in the car for 8-10 months. I asked a local drive line shop over off HWY 99 in Vancouver and I was quoted $375 complete with a new center support bearing... Not bad since last time I checked Driveline Services of Portland wants close to $500.
If only BMW would have put servicable ujoints in the driveline.

I tried Driveline Service, as I am a big fan of theirs. My shop has done business with them for decades with almost no issues. They charge our shop $320 for an e30 shaft, with new CSB, so its very reasonable. Issue is, they just sent me to voicemail today when I said I needed a BMW shaft... I'll have a used one tomorrow for $80 thanks to B&R. I don't doubt it will fail again, but this is my daily beater, and I need it back on the road ASAP. I wish Driveline Services had called me back, I'd love a brand new shaft in the car.
