    New guy

    Hi everyone, name's Alex.

I bought Mac's grey market 323i (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=189106) last week and I'm loving it! Wanted an e30 for a while, but some errant mk2 gti ownership years ago made me real gun-shy to pick up another german car since that car was such a giant pile of shit. This car is seriously cool and I intend to hold onto it for quite a while.

I have been doing 240sx's for the last 6 years, so this is a bit of a departure for what I'm used to :)

    Old pic of the 240:

Spent most of this week fixing little things, and basically assessing what's what. I have 2 check panel lights on, and two more when I turn the headlights on. SI board seems to be dead (but is remanned and has new Sanyo batteries -- not too concerned).

Plans for the car are basically to get the recaros fixed and reupholstered and generally clean up a couple things here and there. My 240 is my fast car, so this is just my cool car and dd :)

    Anyhow, just sayin' whassup.

Not *too* much of a pile :)

It still has a panasonic deck in it, and whatever speakers. Looks like it has some amp wires in the trunk as well, but that's it. I have an old ppi a404 that I'm going to throw in it, and going to fix the wiring on the speakers which appears to be sub-par.

Otherwise, I pulled the cluster to replace a burnt bulb, and checked teh SI board (which is inop -- looks like it's a reman unit with new batteries, so I assume it's just dead). Not going to worry about it, really. That and I've been troubleshooting check panel lights trying to get them to go off.

Lemme know if you want some help on the check panel.

I think Dashboard Monkey (Andy in Springtucky) did the stereo work, but with Mac, who knows, right? Hell, I might have at some point.

BTW: If you see David, tell him the clear coat is FINALLY off those wheels, but they aren't polished yet, nor is the E34 on the road.

                        Innameantime, Howdy.

                            Thanks!

So far I get a constant oil level and washer level light (jumped the washer one with a wire and it went out). Oil level I haven't messed with at all, going to try and clean everything at next oil change.

When I turn the headlights on I get coolant level and rear lights. Coolant level switch can be jumped and the check light won't turn on, and guessing that there are some goofy/bad contact in the rear lights that I need to find/check/replace.
