    Portland Humpin Hash House Harriers

Hello and welcome to the first of many posts to come from this topic. I am going to start hashing every Wednesday night in Portland. (Oregon we don't care about the other ones!)
    Hashing

The Hash House Harriers (abbreviated to HHH, H3, or referred to simply as Hashing) is an international group of non-competitive running, social, and drinking clubs. An event organized by a club is known as a Hash or Hash Run, with participants calling themselves Hashers.
Hashing originated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1938, when a group of British colonial officers and expatriates began meeting on Monday evenings to run, in a fashion patterned after the traditional British Paper Chase or "Hare and Hounds", to rid themselves of the excesses of the previous weekend. The Portland Humpin Hash House Harriers (PH4) was started in 2001 by a bunch of misfits - Barely Manbelow, Skinny Bitch, and PBS. So enough history.

Every Wednesday we all get together and go hashing. I just thought I would see if anyone on R3V would want to go. Every Wednesday its a new starting point and a new set of games. Here is the website and the address of tyhe meet is one there as well. Im going this Wednesday if anyone wants to go with me I can pick you up. I live in Beaverton and the start point is in West Lynn. So if you're on the way, in the way, or down with may, why the fuck snot!

Hmmm, sounds interesting and maybe fun. So, you guys follow a trail either running, walking, or skipping while drinking beer? Who makes the trails?

              Hashing:
"A typical hash today is a loosely-organized group of 20-40 men and women who meet weekly or biweekly to chase the hare. We follow chalk, flour, or paper, and the trails are never boring . . . we run streets and back alleyways, but we also ford streams, climb fences, explore storm drains, and scale cliffs. And although some of today's health-conscious hashers may shun cold beer in favor of water or diet sodas, trail's end is still a celebration and a party."

"The Camry is an appliance, not a car. It attracts folks who have the same regard for driving that they have for washing dishes,
i.e. it's a necessary but somewhat unpleasant chore and they want something to make the task a little easier and insulate them from the process."

well JBrid I the hares leave about 10-15 minutes ahead of use and lay a trail using flour, chalk, or something else to make the trail and we (the Hounds) follow shortly there after trying to locate the trail and the beer somewhere on it!

Sounds fun, minus the running. I'm into a couple other types of pub-crawls. Portland Urban Golf League, it's a league of people that smack around tennis balls with clubs (proper or improvised) that dress up as what every wacky golf-related type outfits. They play on a specified course where every 3rd hole ends at a bar/pub/strip club. All the while drinking whatever you can fit in your golf bag.

The goal it to make it to the end of the course.

Then there is the annual NoPo Anti-Con. A Santicon for North Portland, where several hundred Santas walk from bar to bar.

And coming up soon is the Comicon. Same premise as the Santicon but the participants are dressed as comic book characters.

And finally there is the No Pants Ride. Based off the the New York Subway No Pants Ride. Everyone starts at a bar, gets tipsy, takes off their pants and then hops on the Max and rides to the next bar. The amazing thing is the quality and quantity of attractive women that come out for this! Here's the Facebook event listing for next year's 2012 No Pants

Sorry to bomb your thread with all this info, just thought you all might be interested in bar crawls with hot, single, adult, professional women. Most the ladies that come out are 25-35 that are middle to upper class that like to wild out every once and awhile.

For those that aren't single, it's a blast to go out as a couple and wild out. The wife and I both go.

These people that put this on are also responsible for Recesstime Sports, so the events are always well planned out.
