Sorry for the delayed response... we are gearing up for trial so things are really busy at times for me at the moment.

I see this. Definitely some of the finest e30s on the board are from this area. PNW in general seems to be the land of M30 swappage as well. I'm jealous, well, my M20 powered turd is.

I definitely plan to try to slip away from work and take in Seattle, at least for a few hours.

I don't own my own cue so that should tell you something about my game, but I'm always down to play pool.

I'm going to Google this park, sounds interesting!

If you have transport, run up to Seattle. The waterfront is pretty busy and something to see, Pike Place especially. If you go there don't forget to get a Gyro from Mr. D's (its across the street from the guys throwing the fish).

There's pretty much a little of every thing to do, but you may have to look or ask around for it. What are your hobbies/activities (outside of BMWs)?
I'm not sure I follow the warnings about Swiss...
I do have a rental, hopefully something with a little spirit. I hope I get a chance to see all these recommended spots, there's definitely more here than back in MD.

I don't really have any hobbies aside from wrenching/modding my e30 and Jeep, or riding my motorcycle. My soul died when I met my girlfriend, now I have no time for hobbies (aside from drinking and looking at boobs).

Again... whats the deal with Swiss?

Hm... a Griot's meet? I definitely want to go to this. Mar 5th would be the only practical date, depending on whether I can leave for long enough.

Tacoma has a lot of the "bro military" types and some reason they flock to The Swiss. Not really my crowd of people. Theres finer drinking establishments in Tacoma.

What they are trying to say is if you enjoy a good fist fight, go to the Swiss.

There are way, WAY better bars in Tacoma than the Swiss. Let's see...

The Parkway (has been rated a top 100 in the country, and is a pretty chill place - also my favorite)
The Red Hot (killer hot dogs and, like the Parkway, has received national recognition)
Harmon Tap Room (cool to try some local brew, and I like the atmosphere)
The Hub (another Harmon place, more restauranty)
Doyals (I'm not a fan, but all the wannabe Irish "futball" fans hang here)

Close to your hotel, I'd walk downtown to either Paddy Coynes, The Office, or Matador. The Harmon (not the tap room, but their main restaurant) is at the other end of downtown and has some good food and solid beer. Also, you can check out Dorky's arcade/bar, but they had some liquor license paperwork issues so no beer right now. However, it's always a good place to kill some time on old school arcade game and pinball machines.

There are more, but those are the highlights.

And, you better come visit me at Griot's.
