Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I'm GOING to have this head apart by Friday and hopefully ready to put back on pending parts. The Beisan System's VANOS rattle repair kit and seals kit is in the mail as we speak. Just waiting on head gasket and retainers word from Blunt. Not going to bust his balls as he's trying to catch a much needed and deserved vacation though ;)

Car's at my place in Orting and I'm working on the garage inbetween work to clear more work space for it. Greg is nice enough to loan me the cam lock tools I'll need for the timing to do the retainers/VANOS preventative maintenance. Amazing how it goes from a "simple" head gasket replace into having to deal with retainers, VANOS oil seals and VANOS axial shaft play rings. Oh boy!

There's always the War Memorial Park in Tacoma... it's right next to the Highway 16 on-ramp and there's a good sized parking lot.

I think someone already said it but, the weigh station after the bridge would be a good spot. Memorial park would be legit if someone coming from up north could give a heads up when there a couple minutes out.
