You said the exhaust was intacted, could there be a leak at the exhaust manifold gasket, or did the exhaust even get hit the road?

Chunks would first somehow have to get sucked up by the pickup and through the oil filter first.

I say it's something stupid. Maybe something was jarred loose in the impact like a vac hose or intake boot and didn't come completely off until he drove it a bit.

Did the pan break off in chunks? maybe you got some shards up in the crank or the underside of the piston/rings and caused internal damage...

I was going to ask about the pump, but that was already asked.

All I can say is this is the PERFECT time to swap =)

Well yeah Ian. That is before I put in work and got that shit strait again. I had about a inch of clearance from plate to pan before I wrecked it. Fan is running strait. The thing that totally weird's me out is the fact that the car was running fine once we had everything put back together. Then i turned the car off. Went inside got stuff. BS'd a little bit with Steve (Rick's bro in law) then hopped in car and started it up to go home. Less than 10 min elapsed. Car now runs like shit.
Car was running fine when I pulled up to Rick's.

You could have hit it hard enough to push the radiator core up, maybe your fan is rubbing? I dont have an M20 but that picture looks like the oil pan is too far forward or is the skid plate bent upwards?

I would get it up in the air and look for more damage, maybe its not you engine but your bent skid plate rubbing?

Oil light never came on. Exhaust is all in tact. The motor is running hella awful. When I reached Rick's house oil was still hella raining down from the pan.
