Who do you recommend to get half-shafts from?

So, what started out as a simple brake project, has now basically turned into "let's rebuild the entire car from the ground up because everything is just jacked up". I'm going to need new half-shafts since it seems every boot is torn. Where have you guys had success getting new/rebuild half-shafts from? It'll be for a '91 318iS (forgot to mention that originally).

Guess this is what I get from buying a car at face value! Let this be a lesson learned.

Try Blunt, or Blunttech. You can't really beat his prices.

Napa now sells brand new ones without a core charge for less than that. I'm pleased with them, but was a little sad when I found out they're made in china - just like the shitty autozone waterpump I bought for the other car that had a casting defect sticking right into the impeller.

Thanks for all the replies! Blunt already has more than $1.5k of my money in parts already. He runs a great business, and it's the reason why he's gotten all of it so far. However, I'm hoping to find a local source so I can have it sooner rather than later.

Paula down at Auto Sport Imports in SeaTac [19611 International Blvd] is your best bet for getting something right if you want to stay local.

Ugh. Besides removing the 30 mm nut on the front side of the hub and dropping it from the diff, is there anything else that needs to be removed for the half-shafts to come out? I'd rather not start pounding away at it and only come to realize that something is still holding it in place.

Also, I'm having problems getting the springs out of the rear of the car. I already disconnected the rear sway bar. Is there something else I need to drop? The struts?

Got those. The half-shafts are now bungie'd up while I figure out how to get it out. Big sledge or did you use a gear puller to push it out?

Also, any advice on the springs? Reading on the board and checking out the how-to on Pelican says to stand on the arm and it'll go down, but it doesn't seem to be moving.

Maybe it's time to start offering up beer/pizza to have someone come over and help with this.

Disconnect the swaybar, so the trailing arms can go to full droop and the springs will have space to come out.

Where is Oregon are you located? I could probably drop by and lend a hand, and bring the axles too if you still want them
