With the car in gear and foot off the clutch what happens? In my understanding clutches go out slow and its not the kind of thing that leaves you stranded.

It all depends on how you drive. If the clutch wasn't so good to begin with, it can go out if you punch the gas and accidentally don't let go of the clutch pedal soon enough... It happens to the best of us. My friend stripped his clutch like that on his vw.

Nahh keith its sitting outside. I dont have money to tow it to the shop. Im offering that for someone to come check it out and depending on what it is fix it and get some of my goodies.

Car is on and in neutral, push clutch in (It has resistance but not the normal ammount) go to put it in first and it wont go. I drive pretty hard but nothing out of the ordinary for an e30 owener :p

I was at a light with the clutch in and i felt a click and it lost its resistance and I put nuetral and pushed it to the side of the rode because it wouldnt go into first.

Doesn't sound like a clutch disc.
