    Key's Cut

Apparently no one easy and local, (read: Home Depot, Lowe's, Fred Meyer's, etc...) can cut a key that works for or with either of my E30's. Where do you buy your keys local? The Stealership? Last time I bought a key through the dealer it cost me $75 and it didn't work.

Desperate at this point. I have 1 key for each BMW. Sketch.
    Need a part? PM me.

I went to my local hardware store, it took them 3-4 attempts to make a key that locked and unlocked my car. I just kept going back in after I tested it until they made a good one..

All of the above mentioned looked at the key and told me no. I don't blame the guys behind the counter. The training on those machines is... terrible. And, they only have certain amounts of keys and key "books" they can choose from.

I get keys from the deler all the time and i think they are around $20. or you can even get the "key cut code" from the dealer and take it to a good locksmith and they can cut the key with just the numbers. i did this when my only key broke off in the door and i didnt want to wait for one to come in.

That's a FML moment I'm really hoping to avoid, heh.

Alright, who works at a dealer and can get me keys for $20-$30 a pop? I need like... 4 of each. Damnit.

Actually now days if the key doesn't appear to fit there "pattern" machine they won't even try at like Home Depot or lowes or any of the big chain hardware stores. I got my key copied at a smaller one like "Ace Hardware" or if theres any mom and pop type HW stores around you they'll be able to. Especially if you provide them the blank.

                              No shit.

You are like 10 minutes from my house.

Can you cut E34 keys as well?

Can you re-key an E34 door lock cylinder?

I will be bringing some stuff over monday.
