lol how much low did it go? heating teh springs make them stiffer but more bouncy , so in some terms not good i guess

yeah i would love to , but stock spring in a e30 thats 300 pounds over a 325is... ass end gets a lil more happy. I needs to be low first and maybe a rollbar. Anything can happen up there. Ive had plenty of close calls but never lost it. crazy how i used to go all balls out up there with bald tires and my gf in the car. Not a smart move. She wont go anymore lol , made her throw up after a down hill run haha was great.

Get some decent springs and shocks, upgraded tires are a must and deff brakes. You dont want brake fade up there. ohh yea lights too

and i'm saving up for some bc coilovers which i'm pretty hyped about so we'll see. and new wheels, tires, and brakes are next right after that.

Sorry to inject some science, but here's how you calculate the spring rate:

Notice that there's nothing in there for total length, just number of coils.
If you heat your springs then all you're doing is dropping the car down with the same spring rate. Just means that your roll stiffness won't change and you'll bottom-out more often. I suppose if you did it "right" and heated it so that two adjacent coils are nearly touching, then under load they would be touching, and then your number of active coils would go down, making your springs stiffer. This is how rising-rate springs work. They put some turns close together towards the end of the coil so that the contact each other as the spring is loading up, making the whole thing stiffer.
I don't see anything hugely wrong with cutting the springs, but that's just my opinion. You're dropping the car and increasing the spring rate, just what you want to do. A Celica I used to have had these clamps on the springs to pull two coils together, which dropped the car and increased the rate. Problem is, it seems like if you don't upgrade the dampers to be stiffer then you will be bouncier, since their rebound damping won't be up to the higher spring rate that you're running.

Cutting is better, but cutting stocks isnt going to be all that great, especially with stock shocks. Cutting rides shitty, but i have'nt seen them outright fail like heated springs.
