    WTB local G260

Hey guys. I've got some good rattles coming from the tranny zone(on my car.) At first I thought I would put a new throwout bearing in but I'm starting to fear that it could be a more sinister rattle than that. I really don't want to pull it out and then end up dicking around trying to find what I need, so I'd like to have a working tranny and a clutch kit on hand when I take her down. Anybody have a working 260 they'd like to sell to me? I'll pick it up if it's not REALLY far out of town (PDX.)
I don't think it matters but my car is an '87 325is with a basically stock m20.

I believe it matters b/c the 87's use the earlier motronic with flywheel sensors in the bellhousing. The later cars do not have a place for these sensors and would require the later motronic engine management. I know this is true for the e's (ask me how I know... woops) and I'm like 70% sure it's true for the i's in 87 as well.

It's good to know that there are some differences. I'm pretty new to e30's so I'm learning a lot. My car does have the crank position sensor on the front of the engine though, so I'm guessing it doesn't also have one in the bell housing. I will do some research but I also might have to put some trust in the person I buy a trans from.

Depends on the build date as to where the sensors are located. My 87 i is like the later model cars.
