    icv help

    84 318i m10 efi. ok so it seams like my iac is reciving no signal. story is i drove to friends house we put new wires on and i started car up and runs like crap. messed with firing order and i got every thing set right. idle sounds deeper and has no power to drive. if i un plug the iac it does nothing.

    any help is welcome my car has been sitting for a week and my neighbors will have it towed.

    The fact that the car had has no power isnt a icv problem as the icv only works at idle

        Could be many things vac leak low fuel pressure,.timing is off, maf, tps etc. check the timing the fuel pressure

          i replaced my vac lines a whial ago allong with all soft fuel lines. i didnt pull the dis out. im wondering y the iac is not working what could cause it not to receve a signal. bc i no b4 when i unpluged it when running it idled rough when i do it now nothing.

            Even if you didnt pull it out you could be too advanced or retarded, unplug your maf and see if that changes your idle. Whats it idling at now?

                    it drove fine. nothin was wrong except for the random fluxuation in idle. now its crap. ill try messing with the timing and maf now.

                      messed with distributer and the iac acted like it recived a signal. sounded like there was a vacume leak so i sprayed brake part cleaner and found cylnders 3 and 4 are leaking at the intake manifold gasket. so i guess ill replace that again i did it like 8 months ago.

                      oh ya spidmang i am retarded thats y i got out of hs straight into a dealership and im the youngest tech they have had i work on new cars idk crap bout old ones.
