    Couple suggestions:

lose "Buy this shit, you need it."

and if you can change the ad to HTML, and add bigger, more detailed pics. If you can't embedded them in Craigslist, then try hosting a site somewhere and put up a bunch more high res shots, with all the detail.

do a search on Craigslist for cars in the $5000-$10,000 range, dealers and private owners - this is your competition. It is a beauty contest, and the winner sells his car!

look how these guys do their listings:

your car I am guessing is many times more interesting than that, but they are asking more than $2000 than you are, and will probably get it.

    You have to "sell it!"

I'm not a salesman nor do I really care to 'push' something. If it sells it will because the car did it on its own, not because of "baffle with brilliance and dazzle with bullshit." I don't care what the competition is, this is an open market after all.

Oh and Munichevolution is a bunch of complete pompas slapdicks. Yes I really just said that.

So what you are saying is you really don't care about the car? Don't you want the potential buyer to care about it as much as you do?

the more effort you put in to "showing it off" visually will usually impress the kind of buyer you are looking for. Or you can just wait for the guy who is going to come up to you and try and talk you down to $5000 or less.

        "I'm not a salesman"

Are you married or got a girlfriend? Everyone's a salesmen, or else we would all die lonely..

I'll apologize for the "quality" of some of the members on R3v. I understand your angle on your CL ad. Seems like a pretty nice car. If someone is interested they'll contact you. Good luck with the sale.

                          ummm ok Nickix..

Just was trying to help the guy out with some creative suggestion, but if he is not that serious about selling it, then C'est La Vie. The fact remains, we look at everything through E30 colored glasses, and unless you are trying to sell to someone on this board, you need to entice a potential buyer.

my comment: Are you married or got a girlfriend? Everyone's a salesmen, or else we would all die lonely, is the simple fact that a woman is not just going to walk up to a man and say "hey, let's get married." That same passion and devotion spent to woo'ing the other sex, is no different then "selling" anything else. His love and passion for his car must come through the ad, so that any potentially interested party can feel the same way.

                          makes sense?

^^ Yes this makes perfect sense, and I feel the ad reflects my actual enthusiasm for selling it. If it goes it goes, if it doesn't then I build it. If I was selling my Corrado however, you better believe that ad would have a cover charge haha.
