Or you can just stand around and laugh at my POS. The choice is yours.
Hmm maybe I should bring out the stock 300K 318i for the basest of baselines...

    Fair enough :)

What I like is that we are getting all these e30s with different engines together on the same dyno on the same day so that we can contribute to the e30 community by showing real side by side engine coparos. Make people really consider what engine to swap.

p.s. I hope Davids car doesnt slaughter mine on the dyno...

You may even catch little problems, or find that a particular "upgrade" you made actually netted less power in some RPMs.

I know it sounds expensive, but the right way to do it is to baseline, then dyno after every major upgrade (on the same dyno in as similar as possible conditions). Knowledge is power, literally in this case.
This is the kind of response I was looking for. I'll think about it for a while...should be saving for M Systems though, but we'll see what happens. Thank you very much!

No, I'm not missing the point. My point was not to try to beat everyone else. I have a stock M50, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of cars on here that would kick my car's ass (MacBudd, DeM3n, Darin, etc) and that's totally fine because it's not a competition and I haven't done shit to my car (at least, not yet.)

My point was that we all know what a basically stock M50 puts down at the wheels (like Wishno said earlier) and it would make more sense for me to save my money and dyno the car after I've done some more upgrades to make it a more worth it to me.

Thanks man! I'd like to also, but I think it would make more sense once I've done some more upgrades (turbo, cams, etc.) It's just a stock M50TU, so I don't think it's gonna be all that impressive. It's still a few weeks out, so we'll see.
