    Custom Front splitter

We have a custom front splitter that we are trying to possibly produce more of. I have a couple quick pics for you opinion.

If we can get enough people that want these we're willing to get started ASAP.

We have not got a set price yet but we are open for input. Please let me know all feedback that you have. I'm open for all the negative and positive stuff. So far we haven't had a bad comment yet. I'm open for what ever you have to say. If you have an idea and want to see if we can do it then just ask.

    Thanks,
    Dustin

Interesting. It's like the RyanG diffuser but for the eS/iS air dam. Do like.

Looks nice, although I guess I'd rather see it out of one piece than three(?). Looks like a joint between pieces there in the front shot.
Depending on $$, I might be up for one for my car.

how are you planning on keeping the front of the plate from vibration and deflection when driving? maybe try and have it come flush to the side of the valance?- would have a clean look instead of a "i slapped aluminum to the bottom of my valance" look. try it out

i have previously made something just like this but did not have any splitter support rods and due to the down force it actually ripped my whole es valance off the car(snapped the 2 bolts) and i ended up running the whole thing over.

after the support rods, it was invincible. and i eventually tucked it in more and tied it to the cars metal valance frame underneath.(also acted as a splash guard)

good luck with production. and i would street test it to at least 100 mph before selling to someone. mine held up fine

Speed testing is not a bad idea. I know it's been on the car for about a year now and we haven't had any problems so far. I think we've been up to 100 in it but I'm not for sure. We'll have to get it again.

Also do you have any shots of your support rods you are talking about. I know of the valance brackets, how they are plastic and we're thinking about making some new ones out of metal. But I'd like to see what you are talking about.

Yes there is a seem. There are actually 2. It's a 3 piece setup. I'll get some more shots of it this week.

            -how it started

how it originally looked (about 4 inches out)

then with the support rods (very ghetto i know) but didnt cost me anything and worked great. i could adjust the angle of the splitter

here you can kinda see how much farther i sucked it in (2 inches out)

this is the inner support rods that tied it to the metal valance after i tucked it in.(cruddy shot, but never really took pics of it) allowed for quick disconnect.

Personally, I think you should trim the back of it so that it is flush with the inner lip of the air dam, similar to the RyanG diffuser for the late model iS lips. Would make for a cleaner look, IMO.

Otherwise, I think you're off to a great start!

you dont see the bottom of this unless its on stands and you crawl under- my car is pretty low
well i wanted it to cover the entire bottom of the air dam (for rigidity) but the material i had was only so big. having the splitter on, after it was tucked in and had inner support rods, made the entire front solid and actually saved me a couple of times

was coming home from the mountains and there was a fork in the road, we went left but at last min. saw we needed to go right and cut across. well being on a new to me highway, i hit one of those asphalted in cones. normally this would have ripped off anyone's valance and/ or splitter. (especially if it was only as big as the front edge of the valance)- your flush idea. but because mine was tied to my inner metal valance and strong we hit it and suffer only a slight bent in the splitter. no damage to the valance at all! mind you my splitter was 2 1/2 inches off the ground at the time and the part of the cone we hit was the hard black base.

after we got home i bent it back and it was all good again. Win

thanks man. yea it really holds up. in the previous pictures you can see how much scrapping it took on the bottom instead of my valance getting tore up going into driveways because of the drop i had on the car. and im sure if it, again, was flush (as you suggested) that it would have been torn off at about half the driveways i go into. so doubling as a splash guard, and valance protector + adding rigidity and styling. it works out well

sure she is ugly but if i had the money, she would be perfect in every way (even for racing's sake) AKA down force

sorry for thread jacking DUSSEN. just providing info i have collected with my own stuff. feel free to ask about anything or to use any ideas you may get from what i have done- i would love to help you improve and perfect this product to the fullest potential.

So if anyone is interested in checking this out in person we will have it at the Dick's Duesday meet this week. If there is one.

this is a legit piece. if i had an early model, this would definitely go on it. the thickness of the material used is also seems very heavy duty (if anyone was wondering).

if you make it flush with the sides so it only sticks out it front it would look a lot cleaner and better. I would buy one if you did that.
