Mechanic able to pull the head on my S50 for a reasonable price?

I'm looking at doing some internal head work (retainers, valve seals, lifters, etc. while I'm in there) on my S50-swapped '91 sedan and just got a ballpark 12 hours to pull the head. Yikes. Way worse than I thought. Does anyone care to do some freelance work for me, or have any suggestions on a reliable mechanic under $95/hr? This car is my DD, it's not healthy right now, and if this is going to be an assraping then I may need to start posting feelers and deciding what kind of hit I want to take on my beloved E30. The very thought of this pisses me off, and I should have rebuilt the motor before the swap but I could not given a time constraint to move cross country and start work here in Portland.

Can I drive 6 months with bad lifters, burning oil (likely through the valve seals)?

Just find a cheap M50 for around $400 swap it over the weekend and then rebuild the S50 when you have time.

Why not buy the bentley and do it yourself? It's really not hard.

Great suggestion really. Problem is that I'm now working 8-5ish and live in an apartment. Only brought my basic tools with me. So I need someone to swap it for me affordably. Shit, I may as well sell the S50 to someone with time to work on it.

Interested? lol comes with a caveat that you gotta help me pull it out and install something else.

They quoted you 12 hours just to pull the head off?

Isn't that insanity? I thought so, but I've never done it so I don't know. But, I do have the Bentley so I know the general process and with the right tools and experience it should be NBD. I was surprised, bc I thought it was a place that dealt with swaps but he actually started to say how it's not factory, so it's an unknown. I'm sorry, isn't it a general consensus that the E30 engine bay is easier to work in? "The exhaust can be tricky" really? headers a big concern for you?
lol I wanted to start arguing but held back to be respectful. I may go there for (what I hope to be) basic things although now I feel like I'll get the lecture about how it's not stock so it's more difficult to figure out. I emailed M&B cylinder heads (their youtubes videos for HPF made me fall in love, incredible machine shop) and Brian suggested a nearby shop, guy told me 12 hours to remove and install the engine! Seems alot more reasonable now..

If you're looking for a cylinder head shop, I know of a great local one with very fair pricing. PM for info.

My weekends are usually typically packed. I do, however, have a friend who has a hoist. I have an M54B30.

You should get a leak-down test to verify that it's the head. PMed
