    brakes question: pedal to floor

On my first day back to work after being in the hospital for possible liver failure at the age of 23, my brakes decide to go out.

Got off I5 and pushed brakes and pedal it went to the floor. .. pumped it a couple of times and car slowed down before I slammed into the back of anyone.... later that night I got the car home (fun ride with no brakes.)

Fluid level was down in reservoir

Visual inspection showed no leaks at master or booster. ... brakes lines were OK but rear brake cylinders showed some leaking and one was leaking on the back side (copper washer needed replacement ) and I also replaced both wheel cylinder in the rear. ...

Bleed the brakes and pedal felt strong and pedal did NOT go to floor . ... turned on car and pedal went to the group slowly like before. ... u can hear a spring sound as the pedal slowly drops to the floor

    Any ideas? .....

I'm thinking brake booster as the pedal felt fine with the car not being on and lost pressure when turned on. ...

    BTW this is a 2001 Saturn sc1

Ended up buying a banjo bolt and washer cause passenger rear wheel cylinder was still leaking. ..

BUT pedal still goes to the floor very slowly ( not as fast as it use to) .... I'm thinking master cylinder got messed up when pedal bleeding system which can happen but isn't common. ..

I bought a master cylinder and it should be here tomorrow. ..
