swap finished but won't start

I just finished swapping an m42 out of an e36 into my 91 318i and I was positive I did everything right, but it won't start. It's turning over and it's getting fuel and spark so I'm pretty much stumped. Any suggestions?

Also all the sensors, intake manifold, wiring, etc. are from the e30

because fuel comes out of the fuel line when it's unplugged and I turn the key, and can hear my fuel pump working.. I guess i'm not positive about spark but they are new spark plugs and wires put on properly

You get a new coil? Its probably a spark problem.

I doubt its a spark problem does it act like its going to turn on I think your just getting fuel and spark at opposite times kinda like when you have the dizzy 180 out xcept in this case the harmonic balancer

These engines have individual coils

You can test for spark by trying to arc it to some metal to make sure it's sparking.

This does not mean the injectors are spraying fuel. It just means the fuel pump is working.

Does your check engine light come on when you are cranking?
