    PDX-Wheel finishing?

I got some basket weaves I want to paint, anybody have any experience with local powdercoaters? I've heard mixed reviews about powder coating but weaves are a pain. I've also read that anodizing is good but can't seem to find any locals. At the very least, I might be tempted to pay somebody to sandblast so they get nice and clean. Do powdercoaters usually sandblast before painting?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan A

He's a boss for sure but he charges $150 a wheel. 14" weaves ain't worth it.

Gk machine in donald, OR will sandblast and powdercoat for about $40/wheel. Google them for the phone number, then call and ask about powdercoating.

There are a lot of places in town that will do powdercoating, just search. If you want annodizing apex can blast and anno but I don't think cast wheels will take the color very well.

Call up Brooks Performance Coatings. I don't know what he would charge to do a set of 14'' weaves, might be on the high side. He did a set of Mercedes wheels for me and they turned out fantastic. Located in Sherwood

GK will do for $35 a wheel. They have two shades of grey but can only give a can of spray paint for the darker color, which may or may not be a problem. Tried calling Brooks a few times but no answers. I'll keep you guys posted.

Brooks wanted $400 for the set. If I don't like that darker GK color for the spray, I might just ask Josh how much he'd want to sandblast the wheels for me and paint them myself.

Gk will powder coat any color you want. If its not in stock you can just buy the powder yourself and bring it in.

The problem is that most places have a minimum order for the spray paint to accompany it. However, since I bought the BBS center-caps, one option would be to just paint that small plastic piece black. I'm just not sure how that would look. Anybody seen that done?

Superior Coatings in Hubbard charged $320 to sand blast and coat a set of steel Chevy wheels. You could use our blast cabinet but is might take quite a while to get them cleaned up.
