Input re Craigslist phone number request

So I would like to sell some non-e30 items and was thinking about using CL. When I went to post I got all the way to where they ask for my cell phone number.

I have done some limited research and found out that this is now standard practice. I am just kind of uneasy about giving my cell # to the masses, which would then likely be sold to the lowert telemarketing people...

Any input from more seasoned CL'ers?

Yup...I think it's actually a good idea. It'll cut down on the bullshit we'll need to wade through that CL is known for.

+1 to above statements. I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure that the address bar has "https" instead of regular "http." The "s" designates a secure site.

Just put your cell number on the national DNC list, and if it does get out there, all you need to do is tell the first caller to STFU you are on the DNC list, and they won't bug you. did that with my land line and never a problem.

Now if I can just stop getting calls from people needing a tow truck.

go to fredmeyer and get a prepaid fell phone for $30, use it for the CL ads. thats what ive done for a few years

get a google voice number if youre worried. then if somebody is hounding you, you can just block their number from calling you
