DT Seattle, car broken into today

:-( Hey all, came out of work today downtown and found my passenger window popped along with some serious damage to the outside trim. All they stole was literally an ashtray of all pennies(left the ashtray in the car), ransacked the glovebox and decided to leave my $150 Ray Ban's alone, Fucking idiot.. I didn't actually pay $150 for a stupid pair of sunglasses but that's beside the point

Anyway, I'm in a bit of a predicament here because it's my daily driver for now and going to be raining for at least the next 5 days so I can't drive it as-is. Would anyone have an extra window that I can buy and possibly some spare time on Wednesday?

Also, how would I go about replacing the jacked up trim without a new door--as shown in the photos here? This really blows, and happened at a pretty bad time. Any help in the Seattle area would be much appreciated and can include cash and beer.

Thief would break any cars window to steal anything, literally, like cigarette butts, penny, etc.

If you couldn't get a glass window replacement,
Measure your open window, go to a hardware store, buy a PlexiGlass, which costs about twenty dollars and have them cut it just a bit larger than your window, and slide it into the window and secure it in place, since it's fairly flexible yet sturdy enough vs plastic sheet or bag.

            Good luck.

The exact same break in on the exact same piece of my trim happened in Greenlake. Idiots stole only my old radio and left all my tools etc. I found a window on eBay for $35, they're easy to replace. Can redo the moisture barrier if needed at the same time.

That's exactly why I put in an alarm this summer. :-/ I have the trim piece off a parts car but several pieces of trim have to come off to get to it, unfortunately. Haven't swapped it out yet for that reason.

              Best wishes with your car!!

Seriously, man. My best guess is a crackhead. They jacked my owners manual and a bunch of change, all while molesting a classic car :tsk: Anyway thanks for the support, looks like it'll be getting fixed today!

Wow, same thing. People need to learn that you CAN'T touch E30's -- They're the best cars ever made and therefore.. off limits! So stop breaking em'. It was really kinda funny/scary at a point because they didnt even try to take the radio or steal anything of value like my shift knob or the sunglasses. I even found a spare key to the car in the glovebox after it was ransacked ..yeah never doing that again. PM me if you're heading down to pick n' pull. I might have a window lined up already but I'll let you know so you don't have to waste your time. Thanks a ton!

Bummer. We must work close as I've seen your car near the intersection of King and 1st a few times. Clean car. I pony up for parking in a lot, while not that much safer, I figure it's better than being on the street.

Miy biggest fear is walking out and seeing my e30 either GONE or broken into. Id spend every minute hunting that SOB down and having him choke on his own man hood. Just sayin..lol

Im sorry bro. You can get a piece of plexiglass & cut it to shape you window frame. That will be a bit better support then a bag or paper or something.
