Yeah, I'm okay with dyeing. I just need something other than blueish moldy carpet...

I dyed my carpet black, looks AMAZING and isn't fading in the sun. Also did the rear parcel shelf and it is holding its color perfect, the dye I used didn't make the carpet crunchy or anything like that and doesn't rub off what soever.

Sorry to thread jack: Is it possible or completely unadvisable to attempt dying tan carpet black without removing it from the car? My carpet is tan and stained in a few spots, but it is mint in all other considerations. I really want a black carpet, but I don't see myself tearing apart my interior to make it happen. Assuming I could mask edges and get good coverage, would I be able to effectively dye the carpet while it's installed? Major concern being whether or not the carpet needs to be wetted during the process, which I've heard.

^^ i used carpet and vynil dye spray and did the carpet while it was in the car, had to pull the seats out and center console. worked out good, carpet was a bit crispy at first but now it seems fine plus its not like i ever touch the carpet anyway...

I used the Duplicolor interior aerosol you can get from just about anywhere, I'll probably use it on everything now lol

Nice, i've heard several positive experiences with Duplicolor now. I guess I'll give up on finding a quality true black carpet kit or used OEM one and just dye mine :)
