I've seen that one on Craigslist before, I'm just hesitant to buy it when it has 193K...

Uhhh...why are you hesitant? My car has 250k+ on it and I didn't even bat an eye. Mileage is nothing; maintenance is everything.

I just don't want to get into a car with that many miles and risk it taking a shit on me then I gotta work on it. Like I get that all cars will have problems but ones with high miles tend to get problems a little more often if they haven't been well maintained.

Do you think it would be better to just do a motor swap on the 318i I have right now and just work on that? Cause the body is straight and everything, it just has 286k and I want to work on it, I just don't want it to break down on me and then have to buy a new car and lose all the money I have spent on it.

Agree, you are going to look for some time for a "low mile" E30. Folks love to drive these cars. Cabrios tend to have lower miles as they are sunny weather cars that stay home in the winter.

Again, that really means nothing. You could find a low miles car that some stupid fuck bought and didn't do shit to and have every piece of rubber on the car be totally worn out and have the mechanicals take a shit because they did zero maintenance to it. You could also find a 300k+ car and have it be in awesome shape because an enthusiast took care of it and did all the services, etc. This is why you inspect a car really well before you buy it, or, send it to a reputable shop that knows what they're doing to have it inspected.

193k really isn't much. I wouldn't rule out cars with higher miles. You're going to be hard pressed to find an E30 that has low miles that isn't going to be $6k+. If you have cash to blow, then I guess it doesn't really matter.

My $.02. Good luck to you, regardless.

Yea I love my e30, that's why I would like to get another or at least get my car to a point where it isn't constantly a worry. What type of motor swaps would you guys recommend then if I were to go that route?

I drive my E30 100+ miles a day and have for 6 months. Besides the shitty trans I had, I really haven't had many problems with it, other then stupid little E30 shit.

You could go full 24v M50 for $1000 or so. Great swap for the money. The shell that I'm picking up next will get M30B35 swapped. Not very fuel efficient, but a total blast to drive. I hope to be swapped and running for $1500 or less.
