And even then 3k isn't a whole lot of money in the grand scheme of things. He will make it back eventually in his life.

try and sell it as a whole, no salvage title.
you'd be surprised at some of the offers you'd get.

just list it high and best offer.

Someone hit my car and bent the leading edge of the passenger frame rail slightly. No other structural damage, so I still feel safe driving it. How bad is your frame rail?

It sucks, but such is life.

Keep it, turn it into a parkhard stance master and buy some other random shell that comes around and build your track application specific car.

Saw that car on CL, bummer to hear about the chassis being bent.

Do you know if it belonged to a r3v member beforehand?

If it's safe to drive on the streets, it's safe to autocross in my opinion. Given that there's damage to the car, I would be more woried about what the car is going to do in another collision that what it's going to do if I take a couple hard corners. There are places that specialize in frame repair, you could always go that route. I would keep driving it, and consider getting it repaired.

I talked to some guys at Haury's which is the best shop around for BMWs. To fix the frame and have it perform like it originally did would be 11 grand. The frame is bad enough where they would have to cut out the front frame from a good car and swap it in. With camber plates the wheels can be aligned well enough for street driving. To get them actually aligned you'd have to pull the frame back into shape. That doesn't fix the rust issues or the split seams though which is why to get it back 100% you'd have to replace the whole frame.

Here are the best pictures I could get of the damage, it's really tough to photograph though. This is looking down at the passenger frame rail. I believe the frame rail was partially bent back into shape after the accident occurred because it's almost straight. There's no way the amount of splitting would have occurred if the current state is how it was after the accident.

The owner who I bought it from didn't know about the extent of the damage and he's not a r3v member. I think the damage happened a long time ago as it has started to rust where the seams have split, plus the paint has chipped off on the new fender.

Would anyone here be interested in the whole car or are you guys all just part vultures? :-P Also, do any of you guys know someone who's selling their e30? Preferably one with a straight frame :giggle:

he wont make close to 50% what he paid Im sure. Unless it has some race ass parts filling the back seat and trunk space :(

And you probably cant tell from my sig pic, but that quarter panel in the pic was replaced on my car. But next time you buy a car, take a knowledgeable friend with you, get a PPI, or if you see something funny, dont buy it.

I personally think 3200$ is a bit steep

My brother and I went (we did an S50 swap in his car) and looked the whole car over. It's in great shape except for the rust spot, the driver's seat, and the frame rail. I'll be getting a PPI on any car I get from now on though

I really did not want to chime in but I have too. How did you and your brother miss that. and are cars that hard to find up there? That is a $2000 car max if it did not have the damage.
