What's the difference on the small vs large I guess guibo? Is my 260 from an IS different than the 260 from the ETA?

no the is is the same as the small guibo eta.

the large guibo eta, the m3 and the e34 525 have a larger yoke. larger guibo.

ok but I answered his question is the small guibo the same as The I motor and yes it is. The only ones that are different are the 86 87 eta

            the m3

            or the e34

same transmission with a larger yoke. Called the getrag 260 still but obviously different.

            Also in mercedes and caddillacs.

While the output shaft might be the same on some, the late model transmissions are completely different. Early model transmissions have two holes for reference sensors, while late model "i" transmissions do not. I think the bellhousing is also slightly different. Internal gears are pretty much the same, yes, but physically, they are different.
