its possible. Had a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket. Riding my bike to work and abes vert. Got tired of searching and calling sellers only to find out the car just sold. Made offers on cars. People thought I was crazy. There is a e30 tax. Think about it. To normal people its just a 20 year old German car with 200k on the clock. That is what I based my offers on. I was set to go buy a eta sedan. When I got a call. Eric just landed a delphin 87is with mint cardinal interior. Service records all its life. Bought new at kuni. Got it for $1500. Have cash in hand. Not at a bank. Can't take out a significant amount of cash out at 6pm on a Sunday. Craigslist every chance you get. Seen cars sell within an hour of posting.

you can find a decent e30 for that price. i looked for a few months but i bought mine for 800. although it is an eta it was still in awesome condition. good luck on your search

Got mine for $1500 from someone on either this or Bf.. It was perfect for what I wanted to do; good solid i motor (freshened up by Joe @ Munich a few years ago), stick and failry straight. The interior was mostly gutted, but that was actually a huge benefit (Because Racecar!)

Deals can be found, it just helps to have the cash on you at all times so you can hop on a deal as soon as it appears.
