    Visiting PNW

So my wife and I will be visiting Eugene OR this June/July to watch my brother try out for the Mens 1500m for the US Olympic team. He is going to be running up to 3 days (pending he makes it through qualifying etc) and we will be in the area for a week. We are planning a day trip up to Seattle but other than that and watching him run like a madman, we're not sure what else there is to do. We like outdoors stuff (I'd like to do some mountain biking BUT I'm not sure my wifes bike handling skills are up to that), museums, breweries etc

    Any suggestions gents?

I reposted this here hoping for more input....

Kennedy school is a must for any out of town visitors IMO. Rose gardens, zoo, MAX ride to the zoo and rose garden, and food. If the Candlelight Lounge is half as good as it once was, go there too.

speaking of Kennedy school, if the weather is nice then skip that place and go to Edgefield. It's owned by the same place, McMenemins(sp?), but way better.

Skip going all the way to Seattle if you're planning a day trip from Eugene; it's like 4hrs each way.
Portland is only like 100mi north. There are more breweries than you can see in a day. Multnomah Falls (second tallest waterfall in the world) is only a ~30min drive east of Portland, and there's a nice 2mi hike to the top.

Horseshoe falls FTW, it is gorgeous.

What kinds of stuff are you into? A recent visitor that R3V guided was more into skateparks than taverns...the PNW has everything except warm beaches.

it is on grand avenue but yes.

Thats the orignal location theres one on broadway and one in gresham/ the one on broadway was called like arabian nights or something but changes to nicolas. It has a larger menu and is barely different. Never went to the one in gresham

the orignal one is the best.

multnomah falls is the 2nd tallest waterfall in oregon.

It does not even make the top 1000 tallest waterfalls in the world.

I know when I saw it I wondered why they even named it. Its more on the scale of like, the waterfall you can see from the 84.

It would not make the top 50 tallest waterfalls in either washington or california.

Yosemite falls in california is one of the worlds tallest. Another of the top 5 is actually on the island of molokai visible from the ocean.

both of the tallest waterfalls are in the amazon.

I guess I was way off.

It's 434th tallest in the world according to Wikipedia.

I'm not sure which exhibit is there right now, but the Portland Art Museum is right downtown also.
