replacing front turn signal light assembly

Hit a speed bump while replacing trim and lights on my 318i. I tried to replace the front turn signal assembly with the bumper on. Looked at the back of the assembly and there was a wear mark where the screw that holds them on the bumper on the inside! Seems like I have to remove the bumper and install them before reinstalling the bumper. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Mike

I would hit up BMWM42; I know he's either done it or is in the process of changing his (bumper assembly w/ lights) due to a situation & may have the knowledge you seek. GL

Remove the bumper remove screws replace with new replace screws put bumper back on,
