Crashed it yesterday... totaled too I'm sure. It was on 405 southbound in Bellevue. I was wearing my seatbelt, but it didn't lock up properly. I hit my chin on the steering wheel and my face on the windshield and broke it. I'm OK though. The other car appears to just have a damaged bumper.
I'm going to see how much they want to buy it back. I don't have the space to keep it around and part it out completely, but I'd really like to at least have it for a week or so so I could pull off the more valuable parts.
It's nice that I had just spent like 6 hours on Monday working on it. Fixed aux fan, replaced water pump, flushed and replaced coolant, changed the oil etc. And about 20 minutes before the wreck I put $60 in the tank.
This car was bought for me in 2005 by my girlfriend at the time as a high school graduation gift. At that time I had not even changed the air filter on a car. The timing belt was broken, windows were smashed and it was overall not taken care of. I rebuilt the top end, did a shit ton of maintenance on the engine, did a full suspension overhaul, re-did the interior etc. A couple years later I built a booth in ym garage, did necessary body work and painted it in my garage with the help of a friend with a bunch of body work experience. The paint job came out wonderfully too (there's a thread on here detailing the whole process). It is just a car, but this one has a bunch of sentimental value attached to it and I am heartbroken to see it die like this.
