Glad to hear your ok at least. And yes buy her back then strip her and sell everything. You'll probably make what enough back for it to be worth it.

        Good Luck!

I think he means the shoulder strap didnt lock to hold him from going forward.

Its a shame man but in the end your still alive to build another at least.

I'm really sorry about your accident. I'm glad you are fine, go where the car is located and get the stuff you need out now. (if you don't buy it back) I did that with my E36. I replaced aftermarket wheels with stock, seats, etc...

Insurance company will not cover that so it's only fair.

              Talk to you later Jordan.

Just went through this myself... Totaled mine about a month ago, (rear-ender, doors back and motor are still good) and to give you some insight on buyback value. My car had been rebuilt within 10k miles, excellent interior, and pretty much a flawless unmolested body. In short, it was a very very nice daily driven completely stock 1987is...

They valued it at $4200 and the buyback was $400... its currently sitting in my garage, waiting to be stripped. The interior was just sold for $750 so I am already in the black.

That being said. Everything else is still available.

I always hate seeing these threads...glad you are ok though. I have had the same thing happen with my belt a few times, and I have been lucky enough to catch it.

I had this happen to a gorgeous project car as well. Totally sucks. You should definitely buy it back, then tube the front end

Thanks guys. I've definitely learned a lot, met cool people and had good times because of this car. I didn't think it had so much sentimental value to me until I went back to the tow yard to get my stuff out of it.

I was always naturally good at math and physics stuff, and once I got the love of cars, it was natural for me to get a mechanical engineering degree. So I credit this e30 with steering me towards my career. For my senior capstone project, I designed, fabricated and tested an improved front sway bar. I learned a ton about vehicle dynamics during the project, and it was a success. I got to do some skid pad testing and if I remember correctly, I got something like 12% increase in max cornering force. Here's a thread detailing the project:

And here's a picture of the car almost completely assembled after I did the body work and paint. In that project I shaved the front roundel, windshield washer nozzles and door locks, added the iS side skirts, mtech1 spoiler, euro trim, euro grilles, e36/7 antenna setup and a front iS lip with splitter. Now at least the wheels live on on Christian's touring.

Oh, and I WILL get my sway bar off of the car. I want to keep it as a trophy of sorts for all of my hard work getting my degree. I can hang it in my garage or something. I made two of them and still have the second one, but it was never powder coated, mounted or tested or anything so it doesn't carry the same meaning.

That's really heartbreaking, if I were you I'd find a new front clip and revive it. Seems like a lot of work, but the sentimental value is something similar that I have in my car. I was just thinking about this the other day, it would have to be completely flattened before I gave up and moved on to another shell.

Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.
