Bought it. I need to get some pics up. In the sun the car looks brand new, original paint. There is some wear on the driver bolster but that can be easily fix.

No rust when I put the car on a lift, no water in the inside of the trunk or cabin, starting to become a huge problem on many e30s now.

Yes in Europe they had a rear gun rack self option and its hard to get into the US. Homeland Security blocks them coming.

Try to become buddies with someone who has a dealer account with BMW NA. Then you can get the cool unavailable Euro stuff for cheap.

Seriously, if the car is as clean as you make it sound, is probably a good price. I would recommend to still look for rust though, no matter how good it looks. Good luck and keep us posted!!

yea i paid under 5 for a clean, unmolested 318is with lower miles. I think its worth it to put out a little more if you can get one in good shape.

199K miles but looks like it came from the factory, no dents, fender have never been off.

Is 4K a fair offer?

Sounds like a good deal to me too. I too think its the shape of the car and the history over the milage anyday. I paid a bit more for mine because it had all the history and the body was the same shape as the one your looking at.

On a side note, didnt know e cars had LSDs. Just thought eS did.

My car is on that level, and I paid $5.5k with a few minor issues (driver seat wear). If you can get it at $4k, that's a deal for you.

My personal opinion on value is that engines are easy to come by/swap/build etc, so the fact it is an eta to me doesnt matter. Finding a nice condition body is top priority in my book. That's why I paid as much as I did for mine. Finding a clean body E30 is tough, but worth the cash in my book.
