    I need some $ numbers

My son has a school project where he has to do a report. His report is working on your car vs taking it somewhere. He's been helping me work on the E30.

I need shop rate/cost for installing IS side skirts and a full coilover install

Three hours, and Four hours I'd estimate. I charge $60/hr.

Comes to 1.5hr per skirt, not including paint. and about 1.5hr per side for both front struts (If sectioning housings, I'd say 2hr per side), and a .5h per side for the rear springs and shocks.

Coilovers for our cars are weird, lol.

I have been paying 100-125/hr for all of my work, be it a timing belt or custom fab.
