Leavenworth Drive. What should I do?

so my s52 swapped e30 vert is finally drivable for the leavenworth drive but, i can't decide what to do with the body. its an 89 vert with DB's. I finally got all parts for late model ft/r valance and plastic bumpers. different colors of course (front valance does match though) . My car has 1000+ door dings in it... so my question for you all is... should i remove the DB's, install the plastic bumpers and valances, and sand down the body with a bit of body work, and drive it looking as a project car, or drive it as is with the DB's and original paint with all the door dings?

its been a question on my mind for a while now and cant decide.

Clean it up and put the plastics on.

If you hold off until after the drive, it'll be even longer before you have the way you want.

I would wait until after Leavenworth if you cant get it done. No use putting all that time into it and then getting hit with more road debris etc with a primered car just so you have to clean it all up again before paint

Paint the plastics black and throw them on

I'm in the same boat, got my engine all squared away and the car is on blocks having some ground control coil-overs installed (along with other suspension tid bits!) and really want my car looking good for the E30 Picnic.

But I think I am going to keep the ugly DB's for now so I take my time and do it all right.
So I say rock the DB's so you don't just throw it all together looking like a hash job.

Work on your car as scheduled and show up for the cruise in whatever state it happens to be in. And know that you'll have it done by next year's cruise.

Put front Valance on, and rock it how it is...

Personally I like it when cars I dont see all the time show up with different stuff done to them each time. Its fun to do it all at once but at the same time its cool to show the progress of a project. I'll be rocking my DB's until I get euro bumpers.
