I have a head that was rebuilt about 30K ago but when I removed it to do what I thought was going to be a replacement of a victor reinz headgasket issue the coolant passages had water damage. the jackets need to be welded. excellent core for a turbo project. $60
Or this usable head (130k miles) $160
add the afm, icv, and valve cover to either one for $40 or take both heads and your list for $250
No, not for our purposes. Anything that's important is going to be aluminum. The valve retainers and springs are steel and will rust but those you can source from any I motor and possibly salvage depending on if it was covered or now. How much does the guy want for it? How exposed to the elements was it?
No don't feel bad for drilling it in. Any advice is welcome. And I don't have a spare head at the moment there is one I could grab for cheap but I know its been sitting outside for a couple months. Is there anything that can rust on the head or will it being outside not really affect it?
