I was about 8 cars back from Carlos in the line of E30's. We were in the fast lane right in Olympia, and then there was this two foot section of a big rig drive shaft in the road that he hit, took out his oil pan and he spun in the oil. Damn lucky it was not a lot worse. We all pulled over and tried to help. Pieces of oil pan and other misc parts allover four lanes of I5, stopped all lanes of traffic briefly. I have pictures of the offending drive shaft that caused the whole F@&#ing mess, I will post shortly.

Well, I have the pictures on my PC, but can't figure out how to post them. I don't have photo bucket, I need help to post them.

I am glad I saw it before he did, otherwise we would have much more carnage on our hands. I want to see pictures of this bloody shaft. It looked like an 8" diameter 20"+ long piece of thick wall cast iron pipe to me before he hit it going 60. :(

This thing is like 6 inches in diameter and both sections are a foot or 18 inches long. Not something you want to hit on the freeway at speed.sigpic

Wow! Thank you for the pictures! The officer on the scene grabbed the information of the semi truck driver. He was a mile or two ahead on an exit. I already filed a claim and I'm going to make them pay to fix my car.
It's hard to sleep after that, I just keep reliving the moment in my head and glad it didn't get worse.sigpicComment
