Because the universe hates me...WTB 5 speed tranny

So in the last week, I went from being engaged, employed, and with a running car to single, unemployed, displaced, and with an as-ploded tranny.

Anyone have a working 5 speed they want to sell? I also have an M50 that needs a rebuild I could trade. I can pick up anywhere between Olympia and Vancouver BC. Closer to Bellingham is better.

Also, anyone that wants to get ridiculously drunk with me, I'm buying the first 5 or 10 rounds.

When someone stated there are worst things in life, besides simply dying. Boy they could not have been more right. Just take a lost like you take a win, you'll be surprised how much better you can bounce back from all this

Not getting married is taking a win, man.

My divorce sucked a lot but my life is sooooo much better now because of it.

I can't help you with the tranny, but just wanted to tell you to keep your head up. It sounds like you're handling it OK, but as was stated already, how you handle adversity is very important in how you will come out of it. I recently got laid off because the company I worked for wasn't doing great and was going in to their slowest time of the year (and I was the last engineer hired). A week later I was interviewing for a better job and three days later I got an offer from them. The job I was laid off from was pretty good so I was naturally pretty upset about losing it. But in the end, it was the best thing that could have happened. I am going to be starting in a job with more growth opportunity for a bigger, better company for $15k/year more and with better benefits.

Like I said, I know shit sucks, but if you keep your head right and work hard, you'll look back at this time and realize that it was probably the best thing that could have happened to you. Same goes for the fiance. Same goes for the woman... probably not for a while, but you'll realize that it is a good thing you broke up before getting married and you'll end up finding someone better for you in the end.

                  Good luck man.

PM sent, I have a clean 260 tranny that's been gone over internally. First I want to talk more about this M50 you have that needs a rebuild. I'm looking for one.

Thanks for the support guys. I guess I'm glad that it happened now and not AFTER the nuptials. I'm going to take advantage of the time off and go back to school for my masters. My parents have a vacation house I can steal for a few years near my favorite university. Life, I suppose, goes on.

I'll return all PM's in a minute. As to the M50, I'm reasonably sure it just needs a new headgasket and some of the front accessories to be perfect. Ironically, I got it in trade for a spare 5 speed from Wishno87. It was pulled in lieu of an S50 because it was overheating I believe.

University of Washington probably. My degrees are in Industrial Tech (basically machining, fabrication, and building crap), Industrial Design, and Aerospace engineering. I'd be getting my masters in the latter area. They have a great advanced composites program that I really want to play with.

Its either that, or I move to Florida, or Norcal.

Ah, advanced composites are awesome. I am working on my Masters in Civil Engineering and want to break out more into composite materials.

Aerospace Engineering is pretty legit though, I have a friend at UW doing that. If you haven't noticed my Location already I do go to WSU.

Aerospace sounds fun, though I think i'm going to do civil or architectural.

Hope your life gets better, maybe you will find gold bars stashed under your rear seats or something :)
