Funnest Car I've Ever Driven by Bruce from Los Angeles on 01/25/2012. Trim: 2000 BMW M Roadster, Owned 1 year. 1
Pros: Very good torque in any gear, although 1st gear is a tad soft. Car pulls like a train from 3800 rpm and up. Great handling on the twisties, but be careful on the throttle; with all of that torque when the back-end breaks loose it does it pretty quickly. The styling on this car is superb. It's quite retro-looking, reminding me of a classic British roadster. Very high quality two tone leather interior, cool analog VDO gauges showing engine temperature, time, battery power, and oil temperature. Very roomy for a two-seater. The bulging fenders allow huge rubber (245 in the rear, 235 in the front) to provide tenacious grip in the corners.
Overall review: I bought this car at 11 years old and with 83k miles on it and it runs like a top. Even in L.A. people turn their heads to check out the car when I drive by. At it's "advanced" age it is still a serious sports car that will throw you back in your seat and freak your friends out when you rip it through the turns. The cars were made from 1998 through 2002 and less than 11k were produced for and sold in the U.S. market, so these cars are rare and will probably be considered collectible in the future.
