I've got a spare M20 I'd sell you if you need as well. I'm the candy man of E30s. Check Turbo Thread under my username, no ARP head studs and no Cometic gasket, only stock then you can buy it.

190k on block. 0 miles on the rebuild. This has a total build from rings all up to valve job. Shoot even has a resurfaced flywheel (single mass) $1500.00 for a turbo prepped setup, max 12psi. Or I can do a 2.7i engine build for a little less.

Or drag the motor to me, max price for labor $400 you buy parts. Why blown?

*shrugs* It depends on the extent of the damage for a rod knock. At the very least for a tear down inspection I'll need head gasket, head studs, rings, main and rod bearing, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket. Check BMAParts.com I'll get you part numbers later and pricing. Is the M20 loose or what? Can we take a drive before we spend money?

I'd plan on $100 for main bearings, $80 for rod bearings, $75 lower gasket set, $100 for rings (no chrome moly I hate them) $30 for head gasket $30 for head studs leak down test is free, may need head resurfaced your call. Timing beot, tensioners water pump all your call. The list is endless but my motors haven't broken yet.

Seriously though lets take a drive and see if you've actually got a rod knock or not. PM me if available. I'm not keen in another used engine you're just going to run into problems.

I don't know about driving it I had it towed I could reconnect the radiator and throw a belt on it but I can just fire it up and you can hear how bad it is it sounds like a string of m80's go off under the hood everytime I fire it. Oddly enough it still has enough power to spin the tires though

Still would love to see it and drive it. Sounds like you threw a rod bearing. Hit me up via pm we can chat more. Plan on $500 to do it in parts and $400-500 in labor. Keeps it under a professional build.

Might be something smaller too. If you sell this engine I'll take it off your hands.

Well money is tight right now I just had a baby and I was poor to start lol, but If you can send me a list of what I need I will start collecting parts. It looks like I will be able to make some money in parts off this car so hopefully I can get this motor built sooner than later

So are you keeping the body of the car or just parting the inside(s)? I got confused in all the thread jacking.

Speaking of thread jacking, we didn't address the original issue. Do you want to try using an early model SI board to see about getting the rest of it to work? It would take us about 20 minutes to swap out if you bring me the cluster.
