              It's not very fun. Pull trans and intake,valve cover, timing covers etc. plan on a full day. Good time to upgrade the cooling parts too.

                  ughhh i dreaded pulling the trans slap me if im retarded but i read somewhere that you can drill out the rivets for the lower guides and use 5mm allen heads and lock nuts???????

                        Complete pain. For those things I have a buddy that's a vw tech. Cheaper than the dealer and better than wanting to kill yourself over it.

                        I miss my VWs except that part.

                          May the gods of V.A.G be with you, it's not a task to be taken lightly.

                          Also I agree on the VR6, my mom has a MkV R32 and even with the stock exhaust it sounds great. She just took delivery of a new Golf R and while a very nice car it's missing that GRRRRR factor the R32 has.
