So after wiring them in, I tested them and found the hi and low cant be on at the same time. When the lows on and pop the hi on the low turns off, vice versa. Why is this happening?

(Wiring 30>30 is the power side of the relay and not a great idea IMO). The 86>86 is the switch side and gives the least stress on the tiny jumper wire. That is, if e30s are wired normally.
Edit; I guess a guarantee would be the output side of the highbeam relay (typically 87) to the switch side of the low beam relay (typically 86), hoping that that wouldn't create any roaming ground issues?
Edit2, 30>30 looks like the least intrusive method of jumpering. The lowbeam power-in is powered by the high beam switched-off leg (87a). I'd try that.Last edited by iansane; 07-21-2012, 12:19 PM.84 325e - 91 325i - 92 318 touring - 91 Trans Am - 01 S4 avant - 03 S-type R - 96 F350

Alright everybody, the problem is resolved for the time being, but Im sure I wont have anymore problems with the lights (knock on wood).
Ended up soldering a jumper between pins 30 and 30 and that seemed to work just fine. Had no issues with it. I will see how it does over time.
Thanks for all the help guys.'84 Alpine 325e (Gone)
