FS: M42 + Transmission (Gig Harbor)

Reposting this as the original buyer fell through, I forgot about having the thing, and I recall some of you fighting for it.

Parting out a 91 318is that we picked up for some suspension / body components.

I don't do anything with M42's so we just want it out of here.

Engine did run, however it was certainly down a cylinder just judging from the noise. Once it was warm it did run better and seemed to drive around without any issues.

Engine was replaced and is not the original from the car, unsure of mileage however the 318is had 285K on the odometer.

Here is the motor itself, yes the valve cover will be tossed back on if anyone wants the thing.

From left to right, Cylinders 1 - 4

    Cam gears are pointy

    Compression test when cold was

    Cylinder 1 = 50PSI
    Cylinder 2 = 80PSI
    Cylinder 3 = 224PSI
    Cylinder 4 = 240PSI

Cylinder 1 shot up to 90 with a squirt of oil in it
Cylinder 2 shot up to 180 with a squirt of oil in it
Cylinders 3 and 4 did not change.

Engine includes a nearly brand new Bosch alternator (not that Autozone crap), entire electrical harness, DME, Airbox with AFM. Also included is the Getrag 240 which shifted fine. Not sure on clutch condition but it did not slip.

    Probably a good rebuildable motor.

Located in Gig Harbor and asking $200 for the lot.
If interested please email me at james AT r3vlimited.com
    Thanks!

Didn't work out, who else wants this thing?

No I won't wait 2 weeks to get it, no I won't go less than $200, no I won't deliver.

My god it has taken me months to sell this damn thing.

Anyone with 200 bucks in hand, and a truck who will drive to Gig Harbor can take this thing away.

He talked to me last week but never followed up, that and I never heard back from you either.

If he is getting it this weekend that is fine, I'm not waiting until next week. Sorry I've had it sitting around too long

James - motor picked up. The parts pile was missing the AFM and DME. Lemme know if you have those and I will paypal you some cash to throw those in a box and ship. I also asked John if he had an extra window switch. He gave me one and said work that out with you ... let me know what you want for that and the cordage used to secure the motor.

On that note - Big thank you to John and an elderly gent who I forget his name. They helped the "woefully unprepared" get a motor home safely in the back of my step daughters Jeep. ...

Would have loved to have more time to shoot the breeze with you guys.

                              Thanks,

                              G.
