Looking to buy an E30 from a co worker.

The guy who owns it works in the parts department at kuni BMW. He bought the car from a tech named dan who worked at kuni also. I'm just looking for a bit more history on the car. Ant help would be greatly appreciated. The car is a White 2 door coupe that has suspension work and it is lowered.

I know exactly what car your talking about. So if your coworker works at kuni bmw thus you work there too so ask around there and what's been done to it.

      Not sure if srs...

Anyway, he asked and didn't find out a ton, thus the reason he asked here. Devin, a pic would help!

Dan Z? Alpine late model 2 door? I've seen it several times. Seems like a decent starting point for a driver or fun project. I just remember there being some issues with the front valance, maybe the oil cooler? Seemed fairly straight otherwise, but its been a while. I can only imagine that it has been at least somewhat well maintained. All depends on how much the asking price is

Yeah, that's the car. Looks like the oil cooler and front valance took a nice little bash. He is trading his '96 Subaru with salvage title straight across for this.

Serious? I say go for it. Hopefully he doesn't wreck it.

Yeah the car has more miles on it than my subaru. But it has good extras and it has a clean title and is most likely worth more than my subaru. I know it is a lot more fun to drive.

Went and drove it, pretty sure he's trading for it. Seems mechanically sound, needs lots and lots of cosmetic attention.

                  Do it.

Honestly, it might not be the brightest idea for him to go to a RWD e30 from his AWD Subie right before winter.
As long as he doesn't try to race too many bus drivers, I think he should be fine though. :giggle:
