    Where to paint wheels??

Got myself some new wheels and want to get them sprayed or powder coated. Anyone know of a good local shop that can do a quality job without raping my wallet?? Or has anyone painted wheels themselves and got good results??

I know a guy from Amity who does powdercoating. He did a flat black and white wheels for me in the past for $120 4 wheels. Several years ago and still in good shape

About 4 days to complete. A little far from you though.

$120 for all 4 is a good price!! But i do prefer local since time is money and driving someplace far will end up costing more anyway...

I've painted multiple sets of wheels. If you do it right the paint holds up atleast 2 years.

I stripped a set of RA's a couple years ago. Spray bombed them with rustoleum. It takes a forever to cure but when it does the stuff is practically bullet proof.

That's crazy cheap, most places are 80-100 a rim for powder coating

How does the finish look? Any orange peel? I got some deep dish mesh wheels so wet sanding them will be a bitch!

Well if you want show quality wheels don't paint them but the paint will hold up and look good. I usiall wash the wheels scuff them up with sand paper. After that I wipe them down with acetone, then just shoot them with a rattle can.

That's pretty much how I did my style 5s. I did bead blast them first though.

Ya that's about right. The mesh part had texture so I left that alone. They looked pretty good but not show quality. I put a couple good coats of black down then a couple coats of rustoleum clear. Once they were cured I didn't baby them when it was time to wash them. They were on my car when 2man bought it, I think he put them on his eta though.
A little dirty but it's the closest pic I have

Thanks for all the advice! My wheels are brand new so i wont really need to bead blast them or anything, just a light scuffing and acetone wipe and then ill probably hit them with some rattle can primer/paint/clear.. if it turns out shitty i can always take them to a shop.

Edit: I'll give cascade wheel a call first to get a quote on getting some powda o.O

Yeah, I would suggest powder coat for sure. Much better durability and heat resistant.
