He's right. I feel like I have at least some credentials on this subject as I have been to BMW Welt and driven through France, Switzerland, and Germany including the Autobahn (in an Opel :( ). So, I do appreciate authenticity much more after experiencing Europe and driving in Europe. So in a way, it's not very respectable to have fake Euro plates if your car was never registered in Europe. Driving is taken much more seriously over there than it is here, I think..Leave a comment:

But you're lucky. You've been to Welt. You've driven on the Autobahn! You have driven many grey market German cars (in Oregon!). Many people haven't and therefore don't know or don't appreciate authenticity.
Plus... Your daddy isn't buying you a red e30. Or a 40D.Leave a comment:

I have no idea whether it's fake or not, so I am assuming. But normally most young people (18-25) with American used cars haven't ever driven their car in Europe and haven't done a European delivery, and grey-market cars are harder to come by. So that is why I am assuming his plates are fake. :)

Really nice looking car! Except the euro plates on the back. Sure, euro plates look way nicer than U.S. plates, but I have always thought that is so cheesy how people put on euro plates and then their US plates over top. It's like wannabe euro or something. It's like doing something to it that it's not. Also the euro plates in the front windshield, same thing.
I like the idea of keeping your euro plates on your car if say you did a European delivery and actually drove the car in Europe. Or if your car was grey-market maybe and it came with the plate. But I just think it's so "wannabe" when people put fake euro plates on their U.S. cars.lol whut
couldn't help it ;)Leave a comment:

How do you know its fake? Maybe he has it dual registered for when he goes back to ginger land.Have you ever thought about that? Like if it looks "wannabe"?
I guess my question is, why do you put fake euro plates on your U.S. car? And anyone else who would like to answer.
Anyways, I'm not trying to be mean, it's just like a pet-peeve of mine. Hard to understand why people do it when it's not real! Euro plates do look so nice though, and I wish the US had plates like them.Leave a comment:

+1 it is your car and you can customize it anyway you want. As long as you like it who gives a shit what other people think?lol sorry dude. I'm just trying to create discussion and trying to understand. I don't mean to offend you...
What are you expecting when you post a thread showing off your car to people? Of course people like me will point out some things they do and don't like...
Your car is beautiful though, I love the euro smilies and would love to have some.
